Joyce was born in 1969 and raised in a housing scheme in Torry, which is a resilient, strong community across the River Dee from Aberdeen fish market. Educated at Tullos Primary and Torry Academy where her natural talents for performing and music were encouraged.
She then went to the Royal Scottish Academy for Music and Drama where she won the 'Duncan Macrae Memorial Prize' for Scots verse.

Joyce has gone on to enjoy a successful career in Scottish Theatre but it is her role of Roisin Henderson in the BBC Scotland Soap, 'River City' for which she is now most renowned. Joyce writes and performs her main material in Scots and was a lover of Burns in another life.

Joyce recently spent the day with golfers at Gleneagles, who had paid to take part in this special event raising money for various charity projects.
It was a fantastic fun day that everyone seemed to enjoy.

Pantomime 2007/2008
Joyce was 'Fairy Godmother' in' Cinderella' at His Majesty's Theatre, Aberdeen where she starred alongside Stu Frances and fellow Aberdonian Billy Riddoch.
Joyce was delighted to be returning home for HMT's centenary year to play Fairy Godmother again at this stunning theatre.

The Lighthouse Foundation was set up with the intention of providing a place to turn for the friends and family of drug and alcohol misusers. Finding out that a loved one, be it a friend, a parent, a brother, a sister, a son or daughter is misusing drugs or alcohol can be devastating and confusing. Lighthouse aims to help by offering a number of services directed to providing affected families with emotional and practical support.
The Lighthouse Foundation is a charity that Joyce is particularly anxious to both promote and support. She is planning some fund raising events to help with their Caravan Project.
